We are proud to have two traditional independent breweries and a cider producer within our branch. Whilst they are small, they brew beer and make cider and perry of the highest quality. Their products are well worth seeking out.

This is a six barrel micro‑brewery that started production in Summer 2009
from premises alongside Bromsgrove bypass. Head brewer, lan Hughes, previously
operated his own micro‑brewery, Red Cross Brewery, from outbuildings at his
home. The company supply beer to the Ladybird Inn at Aston Fields.

Founded by Jim Wonders in 1993 and now owned by Gerald Harvey the brewery is
located behind the Fruiterer's Arms in the tiny hamlet of
Uphampton, a mile or so North of the village of Ombersley in 1993. The pub (see above) has a
delightful lounge, is a Good Beer Guide regular and is well worth a visit.
Some of the beers are appearing in bottle conditioned form. A seasonal guest ale
is produced.

The brewery run by Dave and Pat Smith started in 1998 from the Coach & Horses, Weatheroak and moved to its current Warwickshire location in 2009. As well as the beers below there is a continually changing range of seasonal ales. The company have an off-license in Alvechurch "Weatheroak Ales" serving real ale take outs, plus real ale in a bottle and cider and perry.

Run by Steve Cooper, Tardebigge Cider produce
a range of traditional ciders (apples) and perrys (pears) in bottle and draught
form. Available from the address above.
1993-1999
Sadly this respected Bromsgrove brewery closed down in 1999. Former owner Ian Hughes now brews at Birds Brewery in Bromsgrove. Oh be Joyful formerly brewed by Red Cross is now brewed by Worfield brewery in Shropshire. It is available at the Hop Pole in Bromsgrove.
1980-1982
Situated at the Old Washford Mill, Studley, near Redditch, this short-lived brewery produced two regular ales - Old Glory and Giant that weren't the most consistent of beers.
